  • 1 lb. ground beef

  • 1 T. sesame oil

  • 2 T. minced garlic (the refrigerated kind)

  • 1/2 c. brown sugar

  • 1/4 c. soy sauce

  • 1/4 t. ginger

  • 1/4 t. crushed red pepper flakes

  • romaine lettuce leaves

  • cooked rice

Brown hamburger in sesame oil & garlic. Add brown sugar, soy sauce, ginger & red pepper flakes. Simmer for 20 minutes. Serve in lettuce leaves with cooked rice. Can garnish with sesame seeds.

(You could definitely substitute ground chicken or turkey for the ground beef & even use riced cauliflower instead of regular rice. This recipe is VERY, VERY similar to the Korean Rice Bowls we shared last month. Just a tad bit sweeter & served in lettuce wraps instead of in a bowl. Either way, delicious!

Hope you enjoy!
