monday morning mindfulness: let go & let God

I am so thankful for this online community & I want to be a little more intentional about chatting about things, encouraging one another, & reminding each other that many of us are probably feeling similar things, or have at different times. These monday morning mindfulness posts are going to be little glimpses into my heart & life: the good, the bad & the ugly. So much can be learned from different experiences, especially when you are practicing mindfulness.

With all of that being said, today’s topic is: let go & let God.

I have always thought the phrase “let go & let God” was so cheesy & cliche. Until I stumbled across this quote on Pinterest a couple weeks ago.

I’ve always been really big on defending myself & others, & standing up for what’s “right”. When it comes to my job (as a middle school counselor), I view it as advocacy. All of this could possibly come down to the fact that I sometimes tend to be a tad argumentative, but that’s beside the point - ha! While I do think I, as a Christian, am called to stand up for the Bible & its teachings, there definitely is a right way & a wrong way. The right way will point people to Jesus simply by my actions & the way I present myself. This quote really struck me because it means I don’t have to have the last word OR have others agree with my point. Oof. Talk about humbling! God always tends to have a funny sense of humor when it comes to humbling His children! So with all of that in mind, I’m going to do my best to let go & let God & I challenge you to do the same!
