Feel Good Friday

Happy Friday, y’all!

what I've been up to...

I had lunch with one of my closest friends last weekend & our time together blessed me big time! I honestly felt ten pounds lighter leaving the restaurant (even with a belly full of Mexican food). She let me completely unload on her — all of my struggles, my fears, my joys, my insecurities, my goals, my funny moments. For me, it was such a good reminder of two things: one) it’s important to have people in your corner that you can lean on & two) it’s okay to feel all of your feelings!!! As a school counselor, you’d think I’d know number two like the back of my hand, but we’re all human, & we all struggle with validating our own feelings. Hear me out, sister — your feelings ARE valid. Don’t feel bad for feeling!

Not posting this to brag, but to encourage others! If I can do it, you can do it! Thanks to some guidance from Dave Ramsey & a lot of hard work, today I paid off my car three years & two months early! Student loans, you’re next!

Took a little day trip to Manhattan to see my sweet sister on Monday!

IMG_4109.JPG

Being on campus & listening to her talk brought back a flood of memories.

IMG_4108.JPG

She lives in the same dorm hall that I lived in six years ago when I was a freshman!

IMG_4113.JPG

How cute is her space!?

IMG_4107.JPG

She joined Kappa Delta & it’s so cute to see her excited about this new sisterhood!

We ate lunch in Aggieville at a yummy restaurant called Coco Bolos. They had great Mexican food, delicious drinks, & the cutest dishes!

IMG_4121.JPG

So thankful for the experiences I had there & can’t wait to watch her journey, too!

IMG_4118.JPG

My cat, Sophie, has been spending a lot of time on this chair in the corner of my dining room & I just think she’s so cute!

IMG_4178.JPG

The sunsets have been really pretty this week, especially when I’m taking out the trash or recycling. ;)

IMG_4201.JPG

My mom had THE CUTEST cookies delivered to my sister & her roommates this week! The girls just finished up rush week (sorority recruitment), so she had a cookie made for each sorority they are in + a variety of others. If you are in the Manhattan area, check out Cammie’s Cookie Co! (Oh & she even delivers)!

On Wednesday after school, my mom & I went & got our nails done. We both chose fall colors (hers are like a dark nude color) & we’re obsessed! Something about having pretty fingers makes me feel like a pretty woman lol!

outfits of the week…

For the past few months or so I’ve started *trying* to consistently share my OOTD (outfit of the day) just for fun! I’m typically able to link most pieces, but I also just share it to hopefully give a bit of inspiration & show you that you can recreate my outfits by just using pieces from your own closet.

Friday…

Friday was the first football game for my cheerleaders!

IMG_4027.JPG

Saturday…

Of course I had to dress up for KSU’s first football game as well!! My crew is a custom from BskneesShop!

IMG_4058.jpg

Sunday…

I gotta be honest, on Sunday my fam decided to stay home & watch church online so I didn’t meet them. I stayed in my comfies all day & cleaned my house & it felt dang good! Because of this, I didn’t take a pic in my pjs with greasy hair lol.

Monday...

Outfit for going to see my sister at K-State — my alma mater! My tee is from Rally House & I can’t link it for commission, but I’ll link to it here if you’re interested!

IMG_4104_jpg.JPG

Tuesday...

I wore a bright outfit on Tuesday to help it feel not so much like a Monday, but it didn’t work lol. My blouse is old from Loft, but I found a bunch of super similar options & linked them below!

IMG_4155.JPG

Wednesday...

Got to bring out one of my sweaters on Wednesday because it was 80 degrees!!! Yay! I love fall!

IMG-4219.JPG

Thursday...

OOTD for middle school game day! I got to eat a snack size crunch bar for breakfast for showing school spirit!

IMG-4260.JPG

in case you missed it...

This week I shared my monthly recap of the top most-loved items from y’all! I shared twelve from August & I’m not surprised at all by the pieces that you all loved! This dress was number one & it was my first day of school outfit — DARLING! You can view that post by clicking here.

IMG_3361.JPG

I also shared my current meal plan which is mainly Eat to Evolve! I shared my favorite meals & as well as my bomb discount code. Click here to view that post!

IMG_4159.JPG

I started a new weekly post where I share my Weekly Sale Finds! I’ve been sharing them daily on my Instagram stories & I figured I could compile all of them from the week into one post so that y’all can see them, too! You can click here to read that post.

friday favs...

Y’all know I’ve been obsessed with liquid I.V. for years! They recently sent me a cute little water bottle + their new flavor, yellow cherry, to try out. I actually really like it & I’m very picky! It tastes like cherry, but doesn’t taste like medicine at all (I think everything cherry flavor tastes like medicine). My all time favorite flavor is still lemon lime, but this one is moving up the scales! I have a code for you to get 25% off + free shipping! My code is SIMPLYSMALLTOWNBLOG! If you’ve never tried their products before, now is a wonderful time to dive in, & if you’re as hooked as I am, then now is a great time to stock up! Click here to be taken to their site!

IMG_3804.JPG

Okay how cute is this cardigan?! Tin Roof Gift Shop reached out & wanted to send me a couple of items as well as offer a discount code to my followers! I am in love with this cardigan! I have to admit, I was a little worried since it is a one size fits all, but honestly the style is darling! My mom & sister tried it on as well & it looked great on them too! I’ll be grabbing this one A LOT this fall & winter. It is so soft & cozy! It also comes in a grey color that I think I need now. Enter code ALLI15 at checkout to save 15% on either color of cardigan through 09/17/2021.

Along with the cardigan, they sent me this cozy blanket. It is an amazing barefoot dreams dupe! In fact, I took it to my parent’s house because my mom has a barefoot dreams blanket & we both liked this one more! It is so incredibly soft! Thank you so much Tin Roof Gift Shop! Enter code ALLI15 at checkout to save 15% on either color of blanket until 09/17/2021.

I gotta be completely honest, Schoolyard Snacks sent me these snacks for free & wanted me to test them out. The cereal is okay, but is a little bland in my opinion — I didn’t taste any peanut butter at all. & I thought the cheetos were gross. I really pride myself on being authentic & I think it’s super important that I share the things I don’t like just as much as I share the things I do like / love. If you’re super into healthy eating, these might be worth it for you & you’re in luck because I have a 10% off code (SIMPLYSMALLTOWNBLOG10). But for me, these were a flop.

I’m not sure about y’all, but I’m stinkin’ pumped that football season is back!!! I’ll be honest & admit that I totally jumped on the Chiefs bandwagon last year. ;) I’m super excited to watch them again this year & I’ll get to do it while wearing some darling new game day gear from a darling momma’s Etsy shop!

IMG_4181.JPG

I’m obsessed with these!!! I love how they look a little bit worn because it almost makes them look kind of retro! They’re made on unisex Gildan brand sweatshirts which is my favorite brand. I got a medium for a little bit of an oversized fit so that I could wear them with leggings & have my booty covered, but they look darling with jeans, too!! This one is so fun & unique!

This one is my FAV!!! Leopard + football = love! My sisters are trying to convince me that all three of us need to share these sweatshirts because they love them just as much as I do! The best part of all of this is that Ashley is offering y’all 10% off from her shop using my code (ALLI10)! Y’all know I love supporting small businesses, so if you’re in need of some fall Chiefs gear like I was, SweetMommaBlair is your gal!

You guys know that some of my favorite outfits for school involve being casual & comfy, but school approved at the same time. I’m not allowed to have holes in my jeans at school, so I don’t own hardly any pairs of distressed jeans & not a single hole-y black pair. It’s kind of hard to tell in pictures, but these jeans are distressed, but have backing so you don’t see any skin!!! How cool is that?! I’ll share a better picture below, but I love these because I’m able to get by wearing them to school! I’m wearing a five in the jeans, I’m typically between a four & a six depending on how I’m wanting them to fit, so a five was perfect! They’re high waisted & I did have to roll them once at the bottom in order for my ankles to show & to not look like my pants blend into my shoes. My crew is from Aerie & I love the open seam look. I’m wearing an XXS — I always get this size in Aerie tops because they run big. Comes in other color options as well!

IMG_3777.JPG

These pants are from Walmart & I had the impression they were supposed to be like linen work pants, but they’re honestly more like a satin material! They’re super comfy & kind of feel like pajamas, actually. I’m wearing a small & would say they fit a little big (I usually get a medium in bottoms for a looser fit). They’re high waisted & have nice pockets. They come in a bunch of other color options as well!

IMG_3789.JPG

I don’t know about you guys, but I literally never get tired of getting new pjs! Especially when they’re amazing + affordable! This set is from Walmart & the two pieces come together, so I got a medium in both. When I tell you that it is beyond soft, hear me!!! The shorts have a functional drawstring, but no pockets (literally THE ONLY downside of this set). The t-shirt is super comfy & fits me really well — not too long & has a tiny slit on the side.

IMG_3793.JPG

The best part about this set is that the tee is cute enough & nice enough to pair with jeans for school! WIN STINKIN’ WIN, Y’ALL!!!

My mom & I both snagged this striped sweater from H&M the last time we were at the mall! It’s super soft & fits well — I’m wearing a small & my mom got an extra small. I love a good go-to neutral sweater & this one is such a great addition to my closet for fall & winter. It comes in other plain color options, but for some reason I’m always drawn to stripes!

This top is from Walmart & I’ll be honest, it seemed kind of funky online so I wasn’t expecting to love it, BUT, I totally do! I’m wearing a small & it fits big — wide & the sleeves are long. It gets a little bit longer in the back which I love because it’ll cover my booty in leggings! The body of this top in the front is like a sweatshirt, but the sleeves & the back of the top are like a sweater. So it’s literally half & half a mix! It has a full kangaroo pocket in the front which I love. This top is just so perfect for school because it’s right in between a sweatshirt & sweater. It’s under $30 & comes in other color options as well. I haven’t seen anything like this anywhere else so it’s super unique! You did real good with this one, Walmart!!

I’ve said it before & I’ll say it again— I am SO ready for fall! This week I was looking for some new fall decor & found some great items from Target. Every single item is less than $15!! I thought I would share in case you are needing some inspo & hopefully you find something you can’t live without!
