what I've been up to...
As a middle school counselor, self-advocacy is one of the skills we work on developing the most, so of course this page from the book is my favorite: "...Advocating is a fancy word that means letting someone know what you need. Advocating for yourself is a great way to help you learn! No one knows what you're thinking, so you need to tell somebody! You can advocate for yourself by letting your teacher know if you need help or if you're stuck on a problem."
I loved all of the different examples of how students learn differently in this book! & sweet little second-grade Jett is just adorable.
