Rices on the Road- December

In September of 2025, we sold our house & bought a 2026 Brinkley 3610!

Randy & I both work remotely, so we are now living in our camper & working remotely from wherever. I say it’s not a “forever” decision, but a “for right now” decision. All of our chicks have left the nest & it just felt right to us! We know there will be ups & downs, but we are feeling incredibly grateful to be able to travel & explore during this season of life. I will be sharing monthly about where we’ve been & what we are up to.

We spent the first two weeks of December staying at Regatta on Grand located on Grand Lake in Oklahoma!

Each spot comes with it’s own covered patio area including furniture & a grill.

& they come around each day at 5:00 to deliver free margaritas!

It was not very warm while we were there, but we did enjoy some beautiful sunsets!

& one night, the moon looked amazing!!

We made a trip home part way through our stay to celebrate the life of sweet Maddie Kaufman. Her family has been steadfast in their faith as they walked such a hard road. Continuing to lift them all in prayer.

Randy also had to go back to Moundridge for a meeting for a couple of days. Since the campground is gated, I decided to stay back & work. I was pretty proud of myself for staying overnight alone!

If you enjoy a cup of hot tea, this is my favorite kind lately!

We decorated for Christmas while were were there!

Joplin is less than an hour away so we made a trip there one day to do some Christmas shopping. We ate at The Big Biscuit & it was so good!

Randy grabbed us lunch from Raggedy’s Cafe one day while he was out getting our propane tanks filled. I had the california club with tomato basil soup & a salad. It was delicious!

From there, we headed back to Kansas to spend a quick week with family & friends! We stayed at McPherson RV Ranch in McPherson.

Fun fact: the owners are Jim & Lori VanGoethem & we have gotten to know them through so many different avenues, which makes it so fun! Lori & I were in MOPS together & then our sons were in FarmHouse Fraternity together at K-State, so Lori & I reconnected as part of their mom’s club. Now, we are getting to spend time with them when we stay at their campground! We had so much fun showing them our camper! (Gotta love that KS wind, ha!)

I seem to do a terrible job of taking pictures when we are back in the area! I did enjoy a few coffee dates with friends.

& we were so incredibly thankful to gather with our small group from church! We miss them dearly!!

The main reason we were back in Kansas was to pick up some VERY special guests!!

It was such a huge blessing to have Alli & Piper travel with us to Gulf Shores! We met up with Bethany in Missouri on our first day of travel & then Avery & Ethan both flew in separately to celebrate Christmas with us!

We had to be extra creative this year, but renting a beach house that had a camper spot worked out great, confirming for us that HOME is where the HEART is! We missed seeing extended family this year, but having all of us together was such a gift!

Alli did such a great job of writing all about the Christmas break trip that I thought I would just link it here, so you can read all about what we did from her perspective! Click HERE to read about the rest of December!

We like to listen to audio books as we travel & here is what we listened to in December:

My Next Breath- wow, I just can’t believe he survived! Quite the story of his recovery. There is quite a bit of foul language!

The Idaho Four: An American Tragedy - this book is really long! But, if you like true crime, this book is for you! Randy, Alli & I all thought it was really good.

Heartwood- Alli & I were not fans of this one, but Randy really liked it. I honestly can’t even tell you what it was about because I think I blocked it out. Ha!

That wraps up the month of December for us!

Thanks for following along, I can’t wait to share where the road leads next!
