Life Lately
what I've been up to...
Morning line up every day:
I read 79 books in 2025!!! As always, you can check out my monthly reviews under the “at home” tab on the main page. Comment any recommendations I should add to my bookshelf!
Medicube had a huge sale this week, so I decided to buy a bunch of their products I’ve had my eye on, but while I’m waiting for those to come in, just wanted to share my holy grail medicube product that originally got my hooked! Check out the short reel I made here.
My daily LMNT drinks are a big part of what helps me make it through the week! My favorite flavor is citrus salt. I love mixing it with sparkling water for a little twist (they do sell sparkling versions of all their flavors as well). My code (SIMPLYSMALLTOWNBLOG) will get you a free sample pack with your order!
January staff appreciation goodie for my middle school coworkers! 🫶🏻✨💕
As a school counselor, I always say that I’m not just there for the students, but also for my coworkers as well. Little things like this can mean a lot (especially to those whose love language is gifts)! Plus it’s cute & can boost morale! 💜
I’m a BIG fan of sticky notes & thought these encouraging ones were too cute! I made this little card on canva. You’re welcome to use it & I would love it if you gave me credit! 🤗 (comment if you want me to send it to you!) Check out the short reel I made here.
On the bookshelf this week!
Piper likes to spend her after-school-time surveying the neighborhood.
I stumbled across a recipe on tiktok for deconstructed sushi & it’s legit amazing! I’m a super simple girl when it comes to meals & this one is so easy. All you need: yum yum sauce, imitation crab, rice of your choice, & seaweed. She also said you could add soy sauce, cream cheese, cucumbers, avocado, anything else you can think of! I started super simple, but am excited to try adding other things as well.
I finally am starting to take down all of my Christmas stuff. (Don’t judge me, I love Christmas so much). I’m always a little sad when I put everything away, but this refresh actually feels pretty good.
Jason’s Deli will never not hit the spot.
The weather was supposed to be pretty yucky towards the end of this week, so we went on as many evening walks as we could squeeze in!
The sweetest note from a student.
My fav guasha tool is 20% off! It’s a suuuper soft brush, so it doesn’t tug on your skin at all. I use it all the time just walking around the house lol so much easier than the other tools I’ve seen.
I got a new laptop case because mine was literally falling apart & I love that it matches my iPad case!
On Thursday at 10ish the internet went out & never came back on. It was a long day followed by a long night working the scoreboard for middle school basketball.
Then on Friday, our temperature felt like -2 degrees. I was tempted to drink multiple cups of coffee considering how tired + cold I was, but ended up only drinking one. Kind of proud of myself!
Let’s go State!
outfits of the week...
I’ve started to consistently share my OOTD (outfit of the day) just for fun! I’m typically able to link most pieces, but I also just share it to hopefully give a bit of inspiration & show you that you can recreate my outfits by just using pieces from your own closet.
crewneck is from a local boutique!
in case you missed it...
I read six books in the month of December. Check out this blog post to see my short reviews!
As you may have seen, I started a new weekly post where I share my Weekly Sale Finds! I’ve been sharing them daily on my Instagram stories & I figured I could compile all of them from the week into one post so that y’all can see them, too! You can click here to read that post.
If you follow me on Instagram or LTK, then you’ve probably noticed that I have really stepped up my game when it comes to collages of sales, outfit inspos & new items. Well, that is all thanks to my younger sisters, Bethany & Avery. They’re “poor college students” & my mom & I were looking for some extra help on the blog, so it just made sense to bring them on board! We’ll be compiling all of the collages into one post each week so that they’re all in one place & to give those who don’t use social media a place to find them! Check out their post by clicking here!
Next up is my Friday fashion favs post!! Click here to read that one. It’s a goodie if I do say so myself. ;)
