Life Lately

what I've been up to...

For the last month or so I’ve had an unidentifiable little critter living in a quarter-sized hole in the ground in my backyard. I’ve seen it enough to know it’s small & black, but it moves too quickly when I get close to actually see what it is. Well, this week I finally saw it… it’s a big ole mama spider covered in babies!!! Truly my biggest nightmare. & then P found a giant snake skin on one of our walks. I’m over all of this wildlife!!

The sweetest surprise from my sister… McDonald’s cookies & a diet dr pepper!

Good morning!

On the bookshelf this week!

Pre op labs… check!

Officially checked out of my office for the summer!

Piper & I went on three different therapy visits this week. The first was to a nursing home where a sweet little old lady told Piper, “you better tell your mom to keep an eye on you or you may end up in room 324” lol! The second was to an Assisted Living & Memory Care Unit. Piper & Lincoln are two cavs in a pod. Just laying & staring into each other’s eyes. The third was to a second grade class!

& of course we had to stop by to see my gma afterwards! Piper is a smart girl & knows my gma is one of the good ones.

I’ve got six little baby birds that just hatched in their nest in my wreath on my front porch! It’s so fun to watch them grow.

Trying all the tricks to get extra protein in. The easiest pasta salad: chickpea rotini pasta, whatever add ins you like (this time it was cucumbers, carrots & diced cheese), add Olive Garden Italian dressing, some oregano & parmesan cheese.

outfits of the week...

During the school year I did a pretty good job at consistently sharing my OOTD (outfit of the day) just for fun! I’m typically able to link most pieces, but I also just share it to hopefully give a bit of inspiration & show you that you can recreate my outfits by just using pieces from your own closet. However, because it’s summertime, sometimes I don’t even get dressed lol so I’ll share as much as I can, but it’s definitely not as big of a priority for me like during the school year.

in case you missed it...

I read six books in the month of April. Check out this blog post here to see my short reviews!

As you may have seen, I started a new weekly post where I share my Weekly Sale Finds! I’ve been sharing them daily on my Instagram stories & I figured I could compile all of them from the week into one post so that y’all can see them, too! You can click here to read that post.

If you follow me on Instagram or LTK, then you’ve probably noticed that I have really stepped up my game when it comes to collages of sales, outfit inspos & new items. Well, that is all thanks to my younger sisters, Bethany & Avery. They’re “poor college students” & my mom & I were looking for some extra help on the blog, so it just made sense to bring them on board! We’ll be compiling all of the collages into one post each week so that they’re all in one place & to give those who don’t use social media a place to find them! Check out their post by clicking here!

Next up is my Friday fashion favs post!! Click here to read that one. It’s a goodie if I do say so myself. ;)
